Yamaha Acoustic Pianos

GB1K and GC Series

This baby is a prodigy.

Features

The GB1K and GC Series pianos may be small, but they have a powerful resonance and tone that brings out the subtle nuances of every note.

Great pianos start with the finest wood. Soundboards and ribs are crafted by Yamaha artisans using hand-selected spruce from our Kitami Wood Mill in Hokkaido, Japan.

These pianos share the robust back post design of our conservatory series pianos, giving them the powerful resonance, durability and tuning stability you might expect in a larger grand piano.

Bass strings are crafted and hand wound under the watchful eye of Yamaha artisans exclusively for each piano.

Yamaha was the first company to use an advanced Vacuum Shield Mold casting technology called V-Pro to create a stronger, lighter, more durable frame worthy of the grandest grand piano. Every frame is built to our exacting specifications at our Iwata Forge in Japan.

Our unique hammer felt, crafted in Japan, has been designed to bring out the subtle tones of the instrument, and is tested to withstand fluctuations in temperature and humidity and continue playing beautifully for years to come.

CX Series

The most recorded piano in history.

Features

CX pianos have been redesigned with many of the innovations of our flagship CFX to give artists a more versatile tonal palette while still maintaining the bright, percussive sound that has helped make C series pianos the most recorded in history.

The soundboard of the CX takes its cues from our flagship CFX. The finest spruce from our Kitami Mill in Hokkaido, Japan is delicately shaped by our craftsmen to create the iconic CX series sound.

Like our flagship CFX, the back posts of the CX are crafted from the finest spruce and made thicker and more substantial to support the most powerful fortissimo.

amaha was the first company to use an advanced Vacuum Shield Mold casting technology called V-Pro to create a stronger, lighter, more durable frame worthy of the grandest grand piano. Every CX frame is built to our exacting specifications at our Iwata Forge in Japan.

We took everything we learned from our flagship CFX and reinvented the hammers to create the iconic sound of the CX with even more range of tonal colors and nuance.

Yamaha artisans wind each bass string to work in harmony with the hammers, soundboard and every part of this exceptional instrument.

CX pianos are expertly voiced and regulated by master technicians in Kakegawa, Japan to express every nuance.

U Series

The world’s most popular upright.

Features

The U Series soundboards and ribs are crafted from solid spruce that has been hand selected at our Kitami Mill in Hokkaido, Japan giving these pianos a richer, more resonant voice and evenly balanced timbre across the entire keyboard.

Years of cutting-edge research, including our proprietary wood-drying process, result in back posts that maintain their shape, strength and resonance for years to come.

Yamaha was the first company to use an advanced Vacuum Shield Mold casting technology called V-Pro to create a stronger, lighter, more durable frame. Every U Series piano features a full-perimeter frame built to our exacting specifications at our Iwata Forge in Japan.

U Series hammers are crafted of the finest materials and painstakingly designed for each model to provide optimum tone, response and a lifetime of musical enjoyment.

Yamaha artisans in our factory in Kakegawa, Japan oversee the winding of pure copper and adjust the balance and tension of each bass string to the exacting standards and sound profile of every U Series piano.

Often copied but never equaled, the patented Yamaha aluminum action rail helps assure our piano keyboards are resistant to tiny fluctuations in humidity and temperature over time.

Inspired by our grand pianos, our damping mechanism prevents the fallboard from dropping abruptly, guarding against accidental injury or damage.
